Great hike with great views. $10 parking per vehicle if you don't have a pass.
Bring water and know that it's probably going to get hot! We went in the morning and had a beautiful walk, but it was getting warm as we were heading out.
Excellent trails with various levels. I think Laughing Horse is my favorite ... I wiped out on it the second time around. My second favorite would have to be Indian Summer. Amazing views. Great Parking and secure. 10$ for 36 hours ... But you can't park overnight. Review in one word. Beautiful.
Fabulous hike that's not too strenuous. The keyhole is a great place for photos. The only downside is that it can get somewhat crowded at times. But the scenery makes it worth it in my opinion. Be careful in high heat because there's almost no shade.
While I feel it's unfair that people have rated this trail/open space low because they charge a fee, I am a bit surprised how beloved other users have found the Devil's Backbone. It does cost $10 for a daily use pass, which is on par with most state park and other recreational areas that charge in Colorado.
I utilized the southern area of the park, accessing the trail at the US RT 34 entry. From the road, the space looks amazing but the trail(s) themselves were underwhelming. I was hiking and only really had the opportunity to get up close to the interesting stone features at the keyhole. Otherwise, the trail is a bit separated from the backbone for the first couple miles on that end of the park. It is completely exposed and pretty overgrown at this time of year (late Aug). The grasshoppers are out of control at this time too. Every step I took sent a half a dozen or more grasshoppers jumping into me or off the trail.
Overall the valley and the backbone are pleasant scenery but the trail itself was pretty low on the enjoy index for me with so many other great hiking options in the front range. I wouldn't bother returning.
BEAUTIFUL trails and area. Various vegetation, bugs, and birds to see on whatever trail you chose. Keyhole is the easiest and shortest and worth it especially with kids/dogs. If you have more time, and more water!... keep going! More strenuous loops are ahead- my favorite is laughing horse- absolutely beautiful! I was lucky and had overcast sky which helped keep temps down. Be prepared with plenty of water and probably some snacks if you go further.
Great space for a hike. ~4 mile loop that is great for children. Use caution on warm days as there is no shade and rattlesnakes are present.
It was a fun ride with sections for me that were hike a bike because I didn't want to get broken. Exciting downhill sections that were fast and flowy. The flat sections were a bit overgrown. There is a fee to park. It does have a restroom at the trailhead.
Easily accessible, relatively easy trail(s) with some beautiful views. Very exposed so take caution going when it's really hot and sunny, especially with dogs or anyone susceptible to heat
